When settlers came to North America centuries ago, they brought with them the musical traditions and songs of their homelands. These early songbooks and psalters provided comfort and assurance in difficult and uncertain times. Through the generations these early traditions developed into the rich tapestry of American choral music which we know and love today. Join the Tyler Civic Chorale in the first concert of their 54th season as they share a wide array of beautiful American choral works by William Billings, Leonard Bernstein, Emma Lou Diemer, Amy Beach, and others.
