Holy Week and Easter Services at FPC Tyler
Worship during Holy Week & Easter
PALM SUNDAY | April 13 @ 10 a.m.
The 10 a.m. service features a palm processional beginning in front of the church for the congregation as we commemorate the Lord's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and His ensuing trial.
MAUNDY THURSDAY | April 17 @ 7 p.m.
A service remembering Jesus’ love for us in the institution of the Lord’s Supper, followed by the stripping of the chancel, allowing an opportunity for meditation on our Lord's stripping before his crucifixion.
GOOD FRIDAY | April 18 @ Sunset
The sunset service of tenebrae (Latin for darkness) remembers our Lord's traditional seven words from the cross, each with choral meditations following and a progressive extinguishing of candles and closing of shutters. This service allows the congregation to meditate on the cost Jesus paid to redeem us.
EASTER SUNDAY | April 20 @ 10 a.m.
Easter services begin with the Good Friday darkness and move into the joy which Jesus’ death and resurrection bring to us through our Redemption.
EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA | April 20 @ 11 a.m.
Celebrate Easter with a churchwide celebration on the front lawn. Special activities for the kids will include Easter egg hunts, balloon animals, face painting, games, and more.
Note: Childcare is available during all worship services, and a special children's worship event is offered during the 10 o'clock service on Sundays.
