Widely regarded as a pianistic Mount Everest for its many daunting challenges, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto was written specifically for his first North American tour in 1909. Film aficionados may also recognize this piece as the focus of the 1996 film Shine.
Hailed as a artist of ‘magnificent pianism’ with an ‘engaging personality,’ British pianist Tom Hicks joins Weston Jennings for a rare performance of this work as re-imagined for piano and organ.
The sheer amount of pyrotechnics for both hands and feet promises to be exhilarating!
