FPC Tyler Announces Reopening Plans
The Session met in June and approved a plan to re-open the church to limited groups and for worship.
The first thing to know is that strict health and safety protocols will be required for everyone. The plan is to re-open for worship on Sunday, August 2, for one service only at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Everyone who comes for worship will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Doors will remain open so that no one has to touch a door handle.
Everyone will need to RSVP before attending, and as part of that RSVP, will be required to answer a brief series of health-related questions. They do not ask for personal information, but only information regarding a potential for carrying the Coronavirus.
We will also continue to broadcast our services on the internet, only they will be streamed live, not pre-recorded. So, if attending worship poses an elevated risk for you, please consider remaining at home and join us online.
The Deacons are in the process of contacting congregation members to provide information, and more detailed information will be mailed to each household and posted on our website. The last thing to be said is that it should go without saying that if conditions in the community indicate an elevated risk, we will postpone re-opening for worship. Stay tuned for more information in the weeks ahead.
