Rev. McLean installed as Associate Pastor of FPC Tyler
On the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, Oct. 9, 2022, First Presbyterian Church of Tyler held an installation service for the Rev. Brendan McLean, officially installing him as associate pastor.
Rev. McLean was joined by his peers and friends Mark Everett, Phyllis Kidwell, Rev. Kendal Land, Rev. Kenny Rigoulot, Margo Williamson, Rev. Will Wilson, Rev. Ashley Hood and rev. abby mohaupt during the service, each performing a prayer or act of the installation.
Moderator Rev. Hood welcomed those in attendance on behalf of Grace Presbytery. “Grace Presbytery is gathered through this commission to lead in the worship of God, in the Service of Installation to the ministry of word and sacrament in this place,” Rev. Hood stated.
Phyllis Kidwell led the congregation through the first lesson from Mark 6:30-44, where Jesus feeds the crowd of 5,000.
The rev. mohaupt delivered the sermon from the Gospel of Ruth, chapter 1, versus 1 through 18.
The Rev. Will Wilson led the Prayer on Installation.
A communion was held, led by Rev. Dr. Stuart Baskin.
The day was filled with warm wishes, hugs and congratulations not only for Rev. McLean but for First Presbyterian Church of Tyler as well.
